The Open womens team came 3rd Outright with
great runs from Billinda Schipp and Angela Williams who
both ran a couple of the quickest legs of the day.
The mens teams did not fare so well. We had 3 mens teams competing in the 35 plus age group,
the 45 Plus age group and the 55 Plus age group, they were unable to match
the performance of the women and came away without and medals.
Many thanks to all the competitors and the supporters who urged on all of the runners in a great day out.

NSW State Short Course Cross Country
Congratulations to all of the Hills Athletes who competed on Saturday at the NSW State Short Course Cross Country.
From all accounts it was a very muddy course, and despite this we had some great results.
Team Medals went to the Girls u14(Bronze) The u16 Girls (Gold) the Open Women who came 2nd overall and the 45+ men who came 3rd.
Thanks to the team managers Ray Marvin and Dave McEwan who did a great job of organizing the teams.
In the individual stakes we had some very good results also, Billinda Schipp continued her great form with a Second the open womens race, Angela Williams and Rosemary Roediger also did well in winning their age groups. Steve Napper a recent addition to the club scored a Third place in his age group, which augers well for his preferred track racing later in the year.

Jana Rawlinson (Hills District) has continued her return to form
Jana Rawlinson (Hills District) has continued her return to form, with an impressive victory at the IAAF World Athletics Tour meeting in Athens . Rawlinson reduced her season's best time by almost a second with her winning time of 54.25 over a strong field including United States champion Tiffany-Ross Williams.
Rawlinson's performances places her in a strong position in the lead up to the World Championships in late August.
"I was more pleased with the way the race was won than my time," explained the 24 year old after her race.
The time was all the more impressive given that Rawlinson made a mess of the final hurdle.
"I stopped, which cost me half a second. Elite hurdlers shouldn't do that and it was a bad decision. I've got to iron it out to make sure it doesn't happen again."
